Make these before asparagus season is over

Hi Reader,

We are halfway through asparagus season here in Ontario, Canada, which means you still have a few weeks to make the most of it before it disappears from the farmers' markets until next spring.

This week I'm sharing two recipes that put it front and centre.

Smoked Salmon Crostini with Asparagus

A quick and elegant appetizer with crispy crostini, silky smoked salmon, and tender asparagus spears. Ready in 15 minutes.

Eggs Benedict with Asparagus

A lighter, spring take on the brunch classic, with asparagus instead of meat, and a creamy hollandaise that's easier to make than you might think.

Cooking Tip!

To check if asparagus is fresh, look for firm, bright green spears with tight tips. Avoid any that look limp or wrinkled, or have tips that are dark, mushy, or wet.

That's it for this newsletter!

Have a great weekend,

⭐️ P.S. If you make any of my recipes, I'd appreciate it if you could leave a quick comment and star rating on the blog post. Your review will help others find and enjoy these recipes too!

A platter of tuna Nicoise salad topped with jammy eggs.

Hi Reader, I hate to admit it, but I'm not a big fan of lettuce-based salads. Never have been. But a veggie-loaded salad with potatoes? Pass the plate! This week I've freshly updated my Tuna Nicoise Salad recipe, and it's one of my favourite meals to make in the summer. I acknowledge that a traditional Nicoise doesn't include boiled vegetables (and some people feel very strongly about this), but this version follows in the footsteps of cooks like Julia Child, who popularized the addition of...

Hi Reader, First, a big thank you to everyone who filled out my reader survey. I genuinely loved reading your responses, and they're going to help shape what I make for you this year. And congratulations to Jen H., who won the $25 gift card draw! 🎉 This week I've been thinking about what I need to clean in my kitchen this spring, and cleaning through my pantry is at the top of my list. If yours is in a similar state, I have a few tips to help you get it sorted out (plus a resource to help you...
